Factors Effecting Euthanasia

There are many different factors when it comes down to making that final decision to end or keep someones life. People think about things such as religion, cost, suffrage, family, and government.

Religion- Some people think it is against their religion to end a life. In some religions people believe when your life ends is God's doing. And other religions don't believe anything having to deal with taking a person's life or not.

Cost- When someone is in the hospital and or suffering with a disease or from an accident, it is very costly. It is very expensive to just stay in the hospital alone. When you are on medications and are not getting much better it is going to cost a lot of money to try and keep you alive. People may not have as much money as it would cost to keep a person alive for a long amount of time.
Suffrage- It is very important to think about the patient and how much they are suffering. I don't think it would be fair or considerate to let someone live if they are suffering from a great deal of pain. It would also be very hard to watch someone laying there suffering and struggling in pain. If they no longer have to be in pain why not give them that option.

Family- Family is a big factor when it comes to staying alive or ending your life. In most cases your family of course does not want to see you die. They will often want to keep you alive. Although no one truly knows how you feel inside and what you are going through. Only you do so of course it it always hard to lose someone but if they want their life to be over you should respect them ans help to give them what they want.
Government- Euthanasia is not legal in all states. So no matter what you would like to do when put in the situation, you may not be allowed depending on where you live. The law has put out certain rules and regulations regarding Euthanasia that can't be broken.

Animal Euthanasia

While searching  and looking up different websites for my links page, I discovered that Euthanasia is not only used for people but in many cases also used for animals. Euthanasia for animals is similar for humans. Although obviously the owner of the pet is making the decision to keep their pet alive or to end it's life. Since the pet can't make its own decision. When an owner makes a decision like this for their pet they think about the same things they do in which making a decision for a person. There is however different medicines and ways to save animals compared to humans. Veterinarians have their own guidelines in which they have to follow in order to perform Euthanasia for animals. They also use specific charts in which they break the situation down by the kind of injury the animal in suffering with.

My opinion

I feel when it comes to making the choice of life or death the decision should be left up to the patient. Only that person truly knows how they feel and how badly they are suffering. Of course no one wants to see a loved one pass, although I know, I personally would not want to see them living miserably either. Every person has a right to their own life. When faced in a life or death situation only that one person should be able to determined how they would like to spen the remaing time of their life. If they choice to end their life immediately that person wont have to live uncomfortable then that's up to them. Or that person could continue living their life but they know it will now be completely different and possible painful. Whatever they choice as long as they are the ones choosing it I agree with. Everyone should live their life they why in which they are comfortable and the way they want.

What is Euthanasia?

Euthanasia is the process by which a human being has the right and say if they choose to continue their life when faced in a life or death situation. Often when someone is faced in a situation where they could continue their life in pain, or end their life quickly with no pain. There then becomes issues with who has the right to decide and make that decision. Their parents or partner or solely the individual. There are many factors when it comes to making this life changing choice. Is the pain of watching your loved ones suffer worth it? Is the cost of trying to keep this person alive worth it? Or should you consider how the patient feels and what they really want.
